Brookdale is a city on the east end of Superior and is generally viewed by people from other boroughs of the city as being generally wierd. While large, the city of Brookdale had always seemed somewhat isolated from its neighbors. The city was highly resistant to being amalgamated into Superior City but lost a four-year legal battle with the state to keep it separate. There are rumors that the city was cursed, or that it was built on sacred Native lands, but there has never been any proof of any real supernatural phenomenon in Brookdale.
Westbrook is the only part of Brookdale that actually seems to be a real part of Superior City. Made up of the old city of Rainier and several surrounding municipalities, Westbrook seems like an entirely different city from its neighboring districts and has its own downtown shopping area, high school, and other facilities. The only exception seems to be the docks, located on the southern end of the district on the border with Sunnyside, which seem prone to the weirdness that often plagues the area.
Fern Hill is mostly residential and is home to many workers from Meridian. There is also some spillover of hi-tech and industrial business from Meridian and Aurora in the western half. The Brookdale Mall is located in Fern Hill; just on the west side of the actual hill the district is named after. The hill proper, located in the eastern end of the district is heavily wooded in some areas, but vantage points on either side offer a spectacular view of the surrounding areas. The hill also seems to be the boundary between the "weird" parts of Brookdale (the eastern parts of Fern Hill plus Meadowdale and Sunnyside) and the normal parts of the borough.
Meadowvale is the site of a small campus of the University of Oregon, focusing mainly on the Arts. The western part of the district is made up residential areas housing the families of workers from Meridian and Aurora.
Sunnyside is the core of the original city of Brookdale, the other districts having been made a part of the area during amalgamation. Sunnyside has the city's downtown, including the old Brookdale City Hall. The main high school is also located in Sunnyside as are several of the older residential areas. Sunnyside is the focus of most of the supernatural rumors surrounding Brookdale.
